Itineraries
Day 1
📍Arrival at Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Distance: 65 km | Drive: ~2 hrs | Altitude: 2,350 m
On arrival at Paro International Airport, complete immigration formalities and meet your Bhutanese guide. Proceed to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city. En route, stop at Chuzom, the scenic confluence of the Wang Chhu and Pa Chhu rivers. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. The evening is free to relax and acclimatize.

Day 2
📍Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore the cultural highlights of Thimphu. Visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Dordenma) for panoramic city views, followed by the National Memorial Chorten, built in 1974. Discover Bhutanese traditions at the Folk Heritage Museum, and visit Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Thimphu. Continue to the Motithang Takin Reserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal. In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong, the majestic fortress of the Glorious Religion.

Day 3
📍Thimphu – Punakha / Wangdue
Distance: 77 km | Drive: ~2 hrs | Altitude: 1,310 m
After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m), famous for its 108 Druk Wangyal Stupas and Himalayan views on clear days. Continue to Punakha and visit Chimi Lhakhang, the revered Temple of Fertility, reached by a gentle walk through local villages. Later, explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers. Check in to your hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 4
📍Excursion to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)
Distance: 78 km (one way) | Drive: ~3 hrs | Altitude: 2,900 m
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley), a stunning glacial valley and winter habitat of the rare Black-Necked Cranes. Visit Gangtey Goemba, an important monastery of the Nyingmapa school of Buddhism, and the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre. Enjoy the serene landscape before returning to Punakha/Wangdue in the evening.

Day 5
📍Punakha / Wangdue – Paro
Distance: 140 km | Drive: ~4 hrs | Altitude: 2,280 m
After breakfast, drive to Paro. En route, stop at the Royal Botanical Garden at Lamperi, Bhutan’s first botanical park, followed by a visit to Tamchog Lhakhang, an iron-chain bridge temple. On arrival in Paro, visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and Paro Rimpung Dzong, then take a walk across the traditional Nemi Zam Bridge. Check in to your hotel. Evening free for leisure.

Day 6
📍Paro Sightseeing – Tiger’s Nest Monastery
After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff at 3,100 m. The round-trip hike takes approximately 5–6 hours and offers breathtaking views of the Paro Valley. (The hike is steep and not recommended for small children or elderly guests.) Evening at leisure after returning to the hotel.
